The first long-range transportation plan for the SVMPO region covered the timeframe from 2015 to 2040.  These plans are required to cover a period of at least 20 years and are typically updated every five years. The planning process for the region’s long-range transportation plans can take several years and provides multiple opportunities for the public to provide feedback on what they believe are the critical concerns and possible solutions for the future.


The Sierra Vista MPO 2015 – 2040 Regional Transportation Plan is the first long-range transportation plan for the Sierra Vista region that provides the framework for the area’s transportation system to the year 2040.  The RTP identifies goals, strategies, and priorities for meeting the region’s transportation needs.
