Vista Transit Study

In March 2017, the SVMPO commissioned a survey of Sierra Vista's fixed-route transit riders.  The survey instrument was designed to objectively quantify the number of "unique riders" of Vista Transit while developing strategies for enhancing service, and thus mobility, with the service area.  The survey instrument was designed to capture the following information:

• Quantify unique riders.

• Assess travel patterns and rider behavior, including most common trip purpose, frequency of travel, and most common fare type.

• Overall perception of the service, including driver courtesy and convenience of routes.

The final report is available on the SVMPO web site here: Vista Transit Study

Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee

The Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) was recently established to advise the Board of Directors on bicycling and pedestrian related issues.

For more information about the BPAC, their meeting schedule and agendas, visit the SVMPO BPAC web page: http://svmpo.wpengine.com/bpac/

Origin & Destination Study

The Sierra Vista MPO sponsored an origin & destination study to provide the City of Sierra Vista with insights into cross border visitors from Mexico, their trip purpose, their origination/destination plan, their expenditures and store preferences, and other related information to assist Sierra Vista in attracting and expanding businesses within the City.

Sierra Vista will use the findings and conclusions of the study to better understand the types of shopping and services that would attract more Mexican visitors to shop and dine in Sierra Vista, instead of passing by.

The final study is available here: Origin & Destination Study
