Statewide Employment Data

The Sierra Vista MPO (SVMPO) collaborated with other metropolitan planning organizations and councils of government in Arizona in the development of a new statewide employment viewer tool that identifies employers with five or more employees. The tool also identifies what types of businesses are here, how they are clustered geographically (e.g., the number of aerospace companies located in different parts of the region) and what their aggregate levels of employment may be. You can find the viewer here.

Detailed and accurate employment data is critical to regional transportation planning and decision making, as well as for business attraction and expansion efforts. Pursuing the development of this information for our region was guided by SVMPO staff to support strategic economic development.

Thanks to SVMPO member jurisdictions, and other regional and statewide partners, particularly Maricopa Association of Governments, for their role in making this new tool available to our region.
